In a campaign to raise awareness about domestic violence against women, Italian news site Fanpage.it created a video where they ask several boys to interact with a girl, Martina.
The narrator asks the boys what they like about Martina and then asks them to “caress” her. The children exchange awkward glances and nervous giggles, as some gently brush her arm or her face.
Suddenly, the video takes an angry turn when the narrator asks the boys to slap the girl.
The boys look stunned and uncomfortable as the narrator continues to encourage them to “slap her hard.”
All the boys refuse the command, reinforcing that they should not hit girls because they do not want to hurt girls. One boy even brings in the fear of God, saying, “Jesus doesn’t want us to hit others.”
Ending with a simple message from a six-year-old, the video says, “In the kids’ world, women don’t get hit.”
